About oqlfhelp

oqlfhelp is an independent tool built in Montreal to help Quebec small businesses respond to OQLF warning letters and stay compliant with Bill 96 (the Charter of the French Language).

Why this exists

In early 2026 several small Montreal businesses got OQLF warning letters and went public — bakeries, realtors, cafés. Most owners tried to call the OQLF and got no answer. They didn't have $1,500 to spend on a lawyer for what is, in 95-99% of cases, a one-page response and some content fixes. There was no fast, affordable middle option. This tool is that middle option.

Not affiliated with the OQLF

We are not affiliated with the Office québécois de la langue française or any other Quebec government body. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. All response drafts are AI-generated and intended as starting points for your own review. For complex cases — repeat offences, court referrals, threats of injunction — we strongly recommend hiring a Quebec lawyer.
